In his book Developing a Vision for Ministry, Aubrey Malphurs defines a vision as a clear, exciting picture of the future of a ministry.
Over the last nine months the Parish Council has been working on a mission, vision and values statement that reflects who we are as a combined parish and our future dreams. Attached is a letter from myself to the entire parish explaining why I believe we are in a season of new growth and commending a vision statement and set of core values and goals for the next five years. This vision document is also attached and is a draft, awaiting your feedback, before the Parish Council revise it further, and we adopt a final version early in 2017.
As it stands, our vision is to grow a network of flourishing faith communities where we invite people to:
- Belong to an authentic Christian community;
- Believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour;
- Become involved in reaching our city and beyond, with the gospel.
Could I invite you to prayerfully consider all that is in these document and consider how God is calling you to be part of the next season of life and ministry in SWAC?
