A king of God’s Choosing

A king of God’s Choosing

1 Samuel 16 describes the anointing of God’s choice for the King of Israel: David, son of Jesse. While Saul was chosen out of the evil desire of the people, David is chosen out of the security of God’s election. Such election provides the security for leadership that David will need to be a true servant of God’s people. We too have that election, in the Messiah that is born in Bethlehem, a descendant of Jesse and David: Jesus.
