With the global threat of COVID-19 now established and growing in Australia, our government has implemented social distance regulations and limitations on indoor gathering. Anglican Dioceses (and many other denominations) across NSW & ACT have suspended public worship and gatherings in order to reflect the care and compassion of Christ as our whole community seeks to combat the spread of this disease.
Our hearts are heavy that we can no longer gather, but we are committed to doing our part in loving our neighbours, and limiting any transmission. Please read our Senior Minister’s pastoral letter to our parish family.
South Wagga Anglican Church (SWAC) is now ‘online’ and we are scattered throughout the city. Rather than coming to church, we are now exploring new and creative ways of being the church. We will do this through:
SWAC-online: each week we will be providing video content including bible spots, interviews, family spots, songs, and prayer. We will send this out as links for Sunday online worship and some will be available via our Facebook page.
To subscribe to our SWAC-online email list, please send us an email from our Contact Us page. Please also ‘like’ our Facebook page.
Other initatives coming include:
SWAC-scattered: we want to resource our scattered community to keep growing in personal discipleship. We will also provide a weekly SWAC-scattered newsletter.
SWAC-care: We are concerned that many will be suffering at this time and will be seeking to mobilising our church to care for those in need.
Finally, during this time, we want to invite our parish family to continue to financially support the ministry of our church. We have already taken significant steps to reduce our expenditure but it is vital that every member continues to support our parish ministry. Our giving details are found on our Giving page, including details on how to give online.
